DESCRIPTION:On behalf of Acting Police Commissioner Stu Cameron\, all are invited to the “Bart Hose Shoot” hosted by the SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT.  It will be held at our firing range in Westhampton Beach (directions below).  The date is Friday\, September 17\, 2021.  The day begins with coffee and bagels at 0930\, followed by a law enforcement presentation.  Be advised that UNVACCINATED SCPD personnel and non-SCPD visitors are required to wear masks while within the S.C.P.D. Academy East facility. \nThis year’s guest speaker will be Stephanie Samuels MA\, MSW\, LCSW.  Stephanie\, the founder\, and director of CopLine\, is a psychotherapist who works exclusively with police officers in New Jersey\, New York\, Pennsylvania\, and Oklahoma. Ms. Samuels has lectured all over the country on PTSD and vicarious trauma\, including undiagnosed PTSD and the fallout from departmental silence after officers\, are involved in critical incidents. Immediately thereafter\, we will adjourn to beautiful Rogers Beach in Westhampton Beach for our Chili BBQ and the presentation of the 2021 Bart Hose Award.
